The Vappu (May Day) season is here, and as we all know, it never ends! Here are Serveri's Vappu events described in a few sentences. There are also many awesome interdisciplinary events leading up to Vappu, so you definitely won't get bored. April 8-9: Savo-Karjala XQ Queuing

Savo-Karjala XQ is one of the most memorable Vappu events. The tickets are highly sought after, and they will be sold on-site at Lukema on the morning of April 9th. Therefore, people will be arriving to queue throughout the night.

April 9: Joensuu Excursion

The department's excursion to Joensuu. We can look forward to joint programming with Skripti.

April 13-14: VVV Cruise

The legendary interdisciplinary VappuViinat (Vappu Booze) cruise. The trip to Estonia takes us across the sea, so be prepared for a wet journey.

April 24: Salakapakkakierros

Serveri's traditional apartment pub crawl (kämppäappro). Register your own apartment as a salakapakka!

April 27: Valkeisenlampi Championship

A playfully serious competition across various sports and events at Valkeisenlampi.

April 28: Eurovision Sitsit and Party

Serveri's highly praised pre-Vappu sitsit (academic dinner party) with a Eurovision theme. After the sitsit, there will be an interdisciplinary afterparty at Albatrossi!

April 29: Savo-Karjala Excursion

An interdisciplinary excursion through Eastern Finland. The bus route will not be revealed in advance.

April 30: Initiation to Academia (Sivistykseen vihkiminen)

A mystical interdisciplinary Vappu event on campus. You don't want to miss this!

April 30: WabuDeBugi

Serveri's traditional WabuDeBugi. This is where the Fresher of the Year is awarded and Vappu diplomas are handed out.

April 30: Capping of the Veljmies Statue

An interdisciplinary Vappu event where we'll hear Vappu greetings from the student organizations, dunk a professor in the pool, and finally put our student caps on! (If you have one)

May 1: Muikkis

Celebrating Vappu easily makes you hungry, and friends can sometimes get lost. In the early hours of the morning, we'll gather for muikkis at Valkeisenlampi.

May 1: Interdisciplinary Vappu Picnic

A peaceful and communal picnic at Valkeisenlampi, which is the perfect place to catch up and share stories from Vappu.
